Our Teaching PhilosophyAt TheLearningBeaver, we believe the purpose of education is to give students the life skills that will allow them to become successful adults. When students leave secondary school, they should possess a strong grasp of the English language. Literacy is an essential skill that is utilized in nearly every aspect of life, as well as a fundamental necessity for employment. Every student that graduates school will be required to write a resume free of grammatical errors. Furthermore, many students will be expected to correspond with associates or clients in a clear and respectful manner. We are dedicated to motivating students to take an interest in their own literacy.
The teacher’s main role is to provide opportunities for students to learn. Teachers must guide students in the right direction, so that they can come to the answer on their own to create meaning. A learning moment, for a student, has so much more meaning when they discover the answer for themselves. It is our belief that there is an inherent joy in learning, and this joy will occur if the student is motivated. Finally, it is our philosophy that learning should be engaging. We are committed to creating lessons that are both enjoyable and informative. Ultimately, if a student wants to participate because they are having fun, they will be successful.
